[patch] dm-serializer megapatch

Combined patches for 4 tickets into one branch for ease of pulling:
- Support serialization of dm-validation errors collection (#718)
- Don't require json gem on ruby 1.9 (#776)
- Allow YAML.dump(dm_object) (#792)
- Correctly serialize child objects (#829)

alternatively I can commit straight to dm-more/next, except I've lost my commit rights :(

@Xavier: I didn't specifically target you in removing commit rights. I just removed everyone, and am letting people have access that specifically need it.. I figured people would tell me when that happens. I'll add you back to dm-more shortly.

@Xavier: oh BTW, you should be focusing on patching the "next" branch, rather than just "master". Feel free to patch both if you like, but these days I am now 100% focused on the "next" branch.
