URI type defaults to VARCHAR(50), isn't that too conservative?
Reported by Martin Gamsjaeger (snusnu) | May 26th, 2009 @ 09:08 AM
when using the URI type without additional :length option, it defaults to VARCHAR(50) at least on mysql. I guess that's a bit conservative! I remember talking to Dan and he agreed, but I don't remember the default :length constraints we agreed on.
I could easily provide a patch, given the :length constraints are agreed upon.
Note, that the current behavior can easily be amended by specifying the :length option explicitly. However, I guess it's just no reasonable default.
