validations need :allow_blank
Reported by Jacques Crocker | March 1st, 2009 @ 03:06 PM
It would be extremely useful for an :allow_blank as a default option on the validations. :allow_nil is not very useful when dealing with html forms which always pass in a blank string.

This behavior (:allow_nil uses .blank? check) will be default in 0.10. Thank you. I am also considering making :allow_blank alias for :allow_nil or adding :allow_nil (this won't be backwards compatible though).
