auto_upgrade doesn't work with property type change

When I change type of property (e.g. from Integer
to String) auto_upgrade! does not catch
such change, and there is no way to migrate my db.

I have. But it's for custom/uncommon changes in db, but I just need to change column type - which is similar operation than adding and removing column, and IMHO should be supported by auto_upgrade as well.

Sure, this and other similar features will be supported. Migrations are going through a major re-work which slowed down adding new features. Nevertheless, we will get there soon.
