wycats/bundler doesn't recompile native extensions when using :git option
Reported by Martin Gamsjaeger (snusnu) | December 28th, 2009 @ 12:41 PM
While this seems a bit offtopic at first, Alex asked me to file it here as well, even tho the problem seems to be upstream in wycats/bundler. So here's a link to the upstream issue: http://github.com/wycats/bundler/issues/#issue/142

It looks like that repo has moved to http://github.com/carlhuda/bundler .. would you mind reporting it to the new repo so they know about this issue upstream?

- State changed from confirmed to resolved
The last few releases of bundler all compile native gems properly (at least on all MRIs). Marking this resolved.

@Martin: there seems to be some problems with getting bundler to compile native gems on JRuby, but Alex has said he is going to look into it. This is actually the primary reason we're not testing DM gems with JRuby atm. If this was resovled we could add JRuby to the testing matrix and ensure every DM gem passes specs.
