missing jar file in gem

Reported by Joc | October 3rd, 2009 @ 06:19 AM

The jar file do_jdbc_internal.jar is still missing when I installed
dataobjects under jruby.

This was seen installing the gem rather than compiling from source.

When I packaged the gems to push to rubyforge, there was a problem with how they were built. Dirkjan re-packaged the gems, but I assume he missed this one.

What would be ideal is if rake-compiler supported JRuby, because then we could script the build process better, and be able to build them from any ruby.

I've reuploaded this one too now. Could you check whether it works now?

I know Luis has been asking Charles on what rake-compiler can do for jruby, hopefully that will be successful :).

@Joc.. please try jruby -S gem update do_jdbc and see if things work for you now.

@dkubb: I talked to Luis some time ago about coming up with a JRuby implementation of rake-compile. In an ideal world it'd be great, but I am not too keen to take this on just at the moment. I'm also not sure of how Luis would want to go about this in practice (a JRubyExtensionTask, or one ExtensionTask and a lot of branching depending on platform).

Alex, update reported 'nothing to update' but I uninstalled and re-installed and and the jar file was there.
    Thanks Djirkan.

I nominate a new winner of the "mangling my name contest" ;). But seems like it's solved now :).
