Unable to install

Hello,
I'm running Ubuntu Linux 10.04 64-bit. When I run:
sudo gem install dm-core
I receive this error message:
Error fetching remote gem cache: SocketError: getaddrinfo: Name or
service not known (http://rubygems.org/yaml)
I installed RubyGems 1.3.7 from source, not from Synaptic.
Help appreciated,

rubygems.org has problems with their domain today, not our fault :)
